MARIETTA, Ga., Nov. 5, 2026 — Immersive Display Solutions, Inc. (IDSI) has delivered four ChromaXR systems to UFA, Inc. for mixed-reality air traffic control training. The delivery brings together UFA’s ATXR air traffic control simulation software, Varjo’s industry-leading XR-4 Series headsets, and IDSI’s ChromaXR mixed-reality visual system, allowing trainees to use physical equipment while experiencing virtual control tower scenarios.

“The ability to use physical equipment is an important part of this application. ChromaXR provides a controlled setting where trainees can work with that equipment while experiencing a simulated control tower environment.”
— George Forbes, Founder and CEO of IDSI.

UFA develops simulation and speech recognition technologies for military organizations, air navigation service providers, universities, and airports worldwide. For this application, UFA provides its advanced ATTower training software and scenarios, while ChromaXR provides the controlled physical setting and virtual display environment. Compatible video pass-through headsets allow trainees to see their equipment and simulated surroundings, maintaining hands-on interaction throughout the exercise.

IDSI adapted the systems to UFA’s space and integration requirements. Each modular, freestanding enclosure combines a lightweight aluminum frame, customized chroma key surfaces, and integrated LED lighting to support consistent blending of physical and virtual elements.

ChromaXR systems help to showcase our technology to its fullest potential and support the best possible air traffic training XR experience.
— Dale Drake, Vice President of Business Development, UFA, Inc.

This project demonstrates how ChromaXR can be configured around a customer’s training tasks, equipment, and available space. For UFA, the result is a compact environment that supports practical equipment use within a simulated control tower scenario.

Thank you to the UFA team for choosing IDSI to support this work.
