Immersive Display Solutions Inc. (IDSI) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the visual display system provider in the award of the Joint Terminal Control Training and Rehearsal System (JTC TRS) contract to QuantaDyn Corporation by Department of the U.S. Air Force – Air Force Material Command.

The IDSI-supplied visual display solution includes a 5-meter diameter 270-degree horizontal FOV dome solution in combination with a high fidelity, low gain, visually seamless projection surface. The APS™ screen provides a low gain material optimized for both contrast and visual fidelity, with the ability to resolve extremely high pixel densities. The display system is fully integrated with a multi-channel 4K projection solution, 7.1 audio, and automatic warp and edge blend software.

The visual display system represents the first program of its kind using Sony Electronics new laser-based VPL-GTZ280 projector. The VPL-GTZ280 projector is a high-contrast, full 4K resolution solid state illumination projector. In addition, the VPL-GTZ280 projector has been designed with an optional feature to operate in display systems where training tasks require stimulation of Night Vision Goggle (NVG) devices. IDSI worked closely with the Sony engineering teams in both Japan and US to enhance the base capabilities of the VPL-GTZ280 to meet the critical demands of the JTC-TRS program.
