George Forbes
President
George is the founder and president of Immersive Display Solutions, Inc. With more than 30 years experience, George has spent the majority of his career in the design, sales and marketing of 3D graphics and visualization hardware and software systems, including graphic supercomputers, PC graphics accelerators, PC-based image generators, 3D laser scanners, and a wide range of immersive display products and solutions. Previous employers include Springborn Laboratories, Stardent Computer, Kubota Graphics, AccelGraphics, Lockheed Martin/Real3D, Digitized Reality and Elumens Corporation.

Richard Zobel
Vice President, Solutions
Richard has spent two decades in and around the field of immersive environments and perception-based technologies, fifteen of which have been spent developing customer-centric product designs, and developing and deployment of display solutions. Richard’s design and product solutions have earned recognition for his employers and clents with several international design and technology awards as well as being a named inventor on fourteen design and technology patents which span software, hardware and usability-based inventions. More recently his focus has been the development and deployment of customer-focused products, solutions and services from initial assessment through to installation and support.

John Calcagno
Vice President, Business Development
Prior to joining Immersive Display Solutions, John spent 20 years working in the video display technology industry for Barco, Inc. During that time he held several positions with the company including Quality Assurance Manager, Service Manager, and Regional Sales Manager. As RSM John grew his territory from only a handful of customers to well over 60 accounts with sales revenue growing from $1M to an impressive $14M. Prior to Barco, John worked in the research and development departments for several large companies.

Linda Thurwanger
Office Manager
As the office manager at Immersive Display Solutions, Linda draws on over 35 years of experience to support the members of our sales and engineering team. Linda’s background includes customer service, office administration and customer support team management. Her most recent industry-related position was as the inside sales support manager at Barco, Inc.

Mike Parnell
Operations
Mike came to Immersive Display Solutions in 2010 from the Command and Control Division of Barco, Inc., where he was an installation technician performing installation and servicing of professional projector displays. With more than 20 years in the Professional-AV industry, Mike’s responsibilities include customer installations, inventory control, and shipping and receiving.

Alonzo Jones
Manufacturing
Alonzo “Al” Jones has been with Immersive Display since its inception, responsible for manufacturing, vendor qualification and cost reduction programs. A U.S. Navy veteran, Al’s broad manufacturing experience spans from Digital Equipment Corporation where he was responsible for producing several lines of computers and peripherals to Lockheed Martin/Real3D where, as director of operations he directed the manufacture of simulation systems, image generators and 3D laser scanners.

Michael Forbes
Design Engineer
Michael is one of two students currently working part-time as an engineering intern with IDSI while attending Southern Polytechnic State University. Majoring in mechanical engineering technology, Michael’s primary responsibilities include computer-aided design of Immersive Display Solutions spherical and dome display products, projector layout and projector light path design, and warp and edge-blend software testing.

Jacob Elrod
Design Engineer
The most recent addition to the Immersive Display Solutions team, Jacob is another student currently working part-time as an engineering intern with IDSI while attending Southern Polytechnic State University. Majoring in mechatronics engineering, Jacob’s primary responsibilities include computer-aided design of IDSI’s display products, as well as warp and edge-blend software testing.
