I/ITSEC Demonstration: AFRL X-DTT Flight Simulator
Also hosted in our booth was a 3-meter transportable MiniDome featuring AFRL’s X- DTT F16 cockpit simulator. This demonstration was accomplished working in close partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory Warfighter Readiness Research Division of Mesa, AZ. The simulator featured MetaVR VRSG image generation software tightly integrated with Scalable Display EasyBlendFX for warp and edge blending, and coupled with high resolution visuals provided by 6-channels of Projection Design FL32 WUXGA projectors and a high resolution projected HUD.
The XDTT F-16 simulator was networked with the IDSI-supplied AFRL 5-meter JTAC dome in the US Air Force Booth and several daily demonstration “exercises” featured the Swedish Defense Lab participating with a JAS-39 Gripen simulator in a coalition humanitarian operation scenario featuring interaction from all of the networked training devices.

I/ITSEC Demonstration: Christie Digital “Tilt-Down” Dome
IDSI was pleased to participate with Christie in one of their showcase demonstrations in the Christie Digital booth. The unique “Tilt-Down Dome” utilized a 3-meter (diam) hard-shell fiberglass dome from IDSI and featured a 180° horizontal x 135° vertical display tilted in a manner to provide a much more immersive experience than traditional front-facing domes. As a result of the dome being tilted down the user stood in the middle of the dome and was provided a much higher depth perception; a
capability that would enhance training such as helicopter pilot landing.
